OpenLiteSpeed + CWP

  • testing CWP stock php with openlitespeed

  • @sandeep I have a client with a Centos 8 server in testing that would be willing to try openlitespeed. If you need me to test it, tell me how to install it so we can test it too. It's not a production server yet.

  • test site results suexec php :

    some sneak peak : https://imgur.com/a/gUStstC

CWP stock php will work i.e. switcher/selector (cgi only)

you can also use inbuilt php manager under openlitespeed admin console.

    [root@sandy public_html]# curl -i http://openscripts.xyz/test.php
    HTTP/1.1 200 OK
    X-Powered-By: PHP/7.4.9
    Content-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8
    Content-Length: 30
    Date: Sun, 30 Aug 2020 08:40:43 GMT
    Server: LiteSpeed
    Connection: Keep-Alive

    Current script owner: openscri <<<<<<<<<<

  • @JosePP
hi i didn't made any instructions yet just testing it making some notes. When some doc is ready I'll definitely send here in public

  • .user.ini will be used for php.ini configuration and should be in (/home/user/public_html)

  • i repeat openlitespeed have host provider limitations and not for hosting purpose

    i.e. :
like litespeed enterprise auto configuration for all domains/users openlitespeed lacks this feature
means you need to manually add domains to it in order to use openlitespeed and there is another issue of port 80 and 443 apache/nginx need to stop in order to use openlitespeed and you can't use them simultaneously.

you can only use them simultaneously only when it is proxy to port with nginx. i.e. openlitespeed http server should run on different ports.

  • @sandeep Hello!

I am clear that for "commercial" use it is not very useful. But I think it can be very useful for end customers who require it and always warn them of those "defects". 👍

  • will be a slight delay

  • @sandeep No rush sandeep, take your time! 🙂
