OpenLiteSpeed + CWP
-
Hi MysteryData!
I've been following your guides and tutorials and they're really helpful and works even better than the official cwp instructions/solutions.
Anyway, is there a possibility that you can find a way to integrate OLS in CWP?
The only lite speed available is the enterprise but I earn only around 40$~ tops on my server as of the moment so having the license for that one is not practical plus OLS typically is more than enough and way way faster than apache, nginx or even apache + nginx.
Thank you so much!

This would be a very useful option for CWP.

@sandeep Great news!
If you need a rabbit to do the tests here I am
hahaha
-
@JosePP yes need a server and some dummy cwp user account if you can arrange DM me
-
@sandeep Perfect, in a few hours I'll pass you a "cloud" user, within our infrastructure so you can create VPS servers to test what you need, reinstall operating system, etc..
-
@sandeep I have just written the necessary data through your profile chat.
Greetings!

@will-b It's nothing, as far as I can help, I like this panel, so I want to help improve it.

-
complicated integrating current webserver module.
-
testing further, will post a detailed tutorial probably with video.

some tests shows complete ignorance of htaccess rules i.e. .htaccess rules are not fully compatible.

Hi Sandeep! This might help but from what I found openlitespeed by default is not enabled to read .htaccess rules but it can be changed on the panel.
"Openlitespeed support with .htaccess, but must setting in Openlitespeed admin panel. From Openlitespeed admin panel click Virtual Host, Select your vhost. Klik Rewrite Tab, select 'Yes' in Rewrite Control->Enable Rewrite. Point your file in Rewrite Rules, for example /usr/local/lsws/web/.htaccess, and restart litespeed."
Hopefully that might help. Thank yoouu so much!
If you use centos, you can use auto install script with multi vhost support from
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/19313736/htaccess-doesnt-work-in-litespeed
-
yes that is on, some rules are not compatible.

@sandeep Hello!
So for a server where, for example, everyone is wordpress could work well?
The only thing I've read is that you have to restart openlite every time you make a change in the htaccess. Is that correct?
Greetings!

@JosePP those need to be check (i checked wp and it works)

if this is real than i'm afraid openlitespeed is not for hosting providers.

@sandeep That's what I imagined, but well, we can be interested for end customers who want openlite on their server in spite of those details and don't want to pay the litespeed license.
